SMBC and temperatures

Installed an SMBC about 1 month ago, and tuned it pretty well so I didn't increase boost but got the nice quick turbo response. I noticed when it was too high, I would go into limp home mode. No CEL would come on, but my boost would only go halfway into the yellow. Had to turn off the car and restart it to fix it.
Today the temperature outside was only 61F, first time this summer. (San Francisco weather!) And my car went into limp-home mode.
Can cooler temperatures affect SMBC? Is this just the turbo increasing boost because of the cooler air?
Do most people with SMBC's re-adjust it depending on time of year?
