Hi Ryan,
You'll likely notice that the installation instructions from Koni actually state to remove the bump stops entirely (as denoted by the x through the drawing). This is NOT be recommended. My mechanic, however, was a bit reluctant to cut the 1" amount from the bottom that I have seen recommended here so we compromised and he removed approximately 3/4" (may not make that much of a difference either way). I can unequivocally state that this configuration has worked very well on my Viggen.

On another note, I would be interested in hearing your thoughts about the fit of the front springs in the upper plate. My mechanic expressed concern that the spring plates are too small for the springs. Specifically, by the time the spring has gone approximately halfway around the plate, it is beginning to rest outside of it. I called Koni and spoke to three separate individuals and, while they certainly attempted to be helpful, were quite clueless. That is, they presented the argument that the hardware on the Viggen is different from other 9-3 models and that the springs were not designed for a Viggen; a specious position at best.

Sorry, but I'm not qualified to address your alignment question.
