Shift Linkage adjustment. I don't know what year, or miles, we are talking about, but it is likely that your engine rear main seal, rather than pan gasket is leaking as well as your shaft seals on the transmission. When you replace the clutch is the time to have these replaced as well, as long as you keep on eye on fluid levels it is okay for these to leak for a while. The grinding going into gears must be addressed very soon. My guess is that your shift linkage is out of alignment, this isn't a difficult correction; though if it has been out of alignment for a while some damage may have been done to your synromesh meaning time for a transmission rebuild.
You likely can get away with a new clutch cable and shift linkage realignment for the time being. When you replace your clutch cable be sure to lubricate the throw out bearing in the transmission. Do a search here for instructions.
