I just finished the short belt mod on my ’97 900 SET. Went very smooth. I followed instructions provided on Michel Briands site and another site titled 1996 900 SE Turbo. I used a Wazee Saab specific idler pulley and a Goodyear Gatorback 96.7 inch or 2455mm belt. The longest part of the job was trying to get the new Wazee pulley in. The Saab pulley uses a 13mm bolt and there is plenty of clearance to get to it. The Wazee pulley uses a bolt with a 5mm hex/Allen head. I had to 1/4 turn at a time with an Allen key since there was not enough clearance to use my hex socket. Everything looks good and I really want to thank everyone who submits/the archives.
