headlight bulb positioning problem

I had to replace both bulbs recently in my '99 9-3 after a nearly simultaneous both-sides failure. The R side went in w/o problem, but I had a problem getting the spring "hold down" to latch on the L side. I finally went to an indy shop who showed me that part of the plastic to which the clip attaches on the L side was missing. I have no idea how long it had been broken, but I did notice that the bulb's aim on that side had been inexact before the failure. The indy shop put a piece of sponge rubber on the inside of the outer bulbholder cover and it holds it ok, but is mis-aimed. Short of getting an entire new headlight bucket, do you have a suggestion? TIA. DKH
