Funny you should mention about the idler pulley. I purchased a 2001 9-3 convertible with 119K miles a couple of days ago and the morning that I went to pick it up the serpertine belt broke (better at the dealer than on I-81 between Syracuse and Scranton). The dealer replaced the belt, but I swear the the idler pulley sounded like garbage (bad bearing?). I got home OK, but will have this taken care of next week.
Is the 120K service the same as 60K? I am getting new tires tomorrow along with an alignment and was going to have the shop (not a Saab specialist) do some other general maintenance including an induction service; coolant, power steering and brake flushes; and an oil change. Is there anything on this list that I should wait to have done by a independent Saab shop? What type of work would you defer to someone who works on Saabs?
