'95 900S Brake Squeal after ALL new parts! Help!

Hey all,
Back in April, I replaced the rear rotors, calipers and pads on my '95 900S (my first Saab, by the way). I cleaned the P-brake shoes and lubed the mechanisms, etc, etc, and installed everything like I would on any other vehicle.
Well, I then suffered with an interminable squeal for the next couple months which I could not get rid of. I tried all the normal driving tricks to "break in" the pads but to no avail. I replaced the pads again (with a different brand from the first set) to see if that helped. No luck. So I replaced the rotors yesterday with another brand new set. Before installation, I roughed up the surfaces of the rotors AND the pads with emory cloth -per my local garage's recommendation- and cleaned everything thoroughly with CRC brake cleaner.
Took the car for a nice forty-mile drive into the mountains today with no apparent problems and just as I was turning onto my home road...SCREEEEECCHHHHH!!!!
I'm fed up. Any advice? What are these anti-squeal shims I've read about and are they really relevant to what I just did? BTW, all the parts I used are aftermarket, not OEM.
Thanks,
Jeremy
