I have the exact same issue on my 1997 SET conv. When I bought the car 5 years ago the ACC always came on "auto" every time I started the car. I programed it to remain "off", but it still runs with the AC compressor engaged even though the ACC panel says "off" and the fan is not running. The air that is ever so slightly comming from the vents is ice cold. The only way I make this stop is to push "auto" to turn the system on, immediately push "econ" and then push "off". Then the air trickling from the vents is normal temp. But if I raise or lower a window or the top the compressor will begin running again even though the systen still says "off". I have been unable to find a cause for this strange behavior. It bothers me to drive long distances with the ACC "off" and a window down for ventilation on a nice day, yet the ac compressor is running all the time. Unless I go through the process above this happens all the time. By the way, I also have a 1997 SET coupe which does not exhibit this same "behavior".
