Is it a good idea to stick with the same color paint so you can skip the inside of the doors, etc? Are there any other tricks that would allow you to go with a different color paint and yet avoid having to take the car completely apart? I have gun metal gray now, but always thought it wasn't quite the right shade. Maybe a little candy and clearcoat magic to spruce it up a bit.
If you get a thicker clearcoat, can you avoid more rock chips? Right now, my hood is full of chips down to the primer, mostly from gravel on the roads in the winter.
