As you press the calipers back, the fluid should return to the master cylinder resevior, Is the cap on the resevior? If so, I guess its possible that its completely full and you are at a hydraulic lock state. Make sure the cap is off and that its not overflowing into your engine bay. Time to go for the C-clamp I guess, it has a lot more power than the channel locks.
Other than that, you can try to open the bleed screw and reslease the pressure in the caliper that way. Downside is that you'll have to bleed the circuit afterwards.
