Hey Kirk, thanks for the advice on seeking help/warranty from Saab. I ended up not needing to call the place you went through as my dealer actually went to Saab himself asking for Saab to cover part of the rebuild (because another piston had already been replaced on warranty by the guy who sold it to me). Saab endd up paying just under 1/2 for parts and labout for the rebuild, which, based on the other posting here, I'm not complaining about.
I think what I got was a block from somewhere in the US (not the factory?? - which I assume is over-seas), then they determined the head had to be replaced too. Not sure where it came from.
What happens when all the Viggen blocks are gone?!
