Tricky nomenclature for 1999 thru 2003 (OG)9-3 Verts. I wouldn't reject any year or any configuration. Pretty much the same car 1999 thru 2003. The SE/premium package stuff is nice and includes power passenger seat, memory drivers seat, upgraded stereo, and here's how to tell, the ACC or digital climate control, sometimes a rear spoiler. 1999 and 2000s came in regular and SE, for 2001 all the verts were called SEs and the SE stuff became the premium package. Just look for the ACC or the knobs and you'll know which is which. For 2002 and 2003 the premium package stuff became standard. 2003 sport package cars came with 17" all the Viggen bodywork, seats, interior trim, but not the lower Viggen chassis, kinda' a faux Viggen and availible in automatic too.
VW converts comprise one of the biggest segments of Saab owners and intenders. Just as a VW has a somewhat oddball appeal in a sea mostly Japanese competition Saabs have a unique appeal too in their class. Both Saab and VW fit with European tastes and are not the most popular vehicles in their class. VW folks often don't warm up to glorified VWs a.k.a Audis.
Here's a pic of a faux Viggen in cosmic blue.
