1) The car uses a European antenna plug, but most US radios have jacks for Motorola plugs. An adapter can be bought at any car stereo shop since VWs also use them.
2) No, the metal frame for the stock stereo has to come out. You'll use the sleeve that your new radio comes with and the small pocket that you can buy from Taliaferro Saab.
3) Amp/speaker matching isn't a concern since virtually all car speakers are 4 ohms, and no matter what you buy, you'll have to make up a custom cable to use your door speaker amp. As far as stereo matching, Nakamichi makes some very subdued-looking black head units that look great, and one model can even be set up for green button lighting and orange display lighting to match you dashboard perfectly.
4) It's fairly easy to do yourself. Unless you're comfortable with soldering, though, you may want to see if a custom stereo shop can make you up a cable for the amp. The rest is a piece of cake!
