Your front tires were quite worn, now they're moved to the rear. Your rear tires might have some uneven wear, even tho they have lots of tread. You moved the noise to the front where you can hear it. Swap them back to test.
If the tires are non-directional, maybe they crossed them to the front. That should be the way to do it, but if they've spent a LONG time on the back, maybe it's best to keep them on the same side.
It's too late to warn you about rotating tires regularly...
When it gets slippery, you really don't want the worn-out tires on the back. Maybe this is an opportunity to get 2 new tires so they more closely match the ones that are now on the front.
If it's really tire noise, maybe that's your excuse to buy all 4 new ones. (See how easy I can spend your money?) Then rotate them at every oil change.
