??Headbolt questions before I dive in??

Couple o' questions before I pull the valve cover and dive in:
1) I own a poor man's torque wrench that's close enough for caliper bolts, etc but probably off by an nm or two.... Will this suffice for headbolts?
2) What do I do if I find sludge?
3) Eeuroparts states about the bolt they sell that it is the "Late style head bolt for any 16v 900/9000, any 9-3/9-5 4cyl. Genuine Saab". The part# is 595579 -- is this what I want?
Thanks in advance!!!
