I can only speak for the SID. I have a '99 and the pixels started going out last year. It got to the point where I could barely read the screen. Saab dealer told me they had to replace the whole thing -- i.e., it can't be repaired. Cost: $600 (incl parts and labor). I decided to suck it up and pay for it, although a few people on the board recommended going to a junk yard or going on ebay to find the part. Good luck.

Re: power locks, you might want to replace the battery in the key fob. The battery costs something like $5 at the dealer.
