'96 900 SET. Have been noticing this for a while. If I am driving on the concrete part of the freeway, the car shakes and rattles (kind of violent) on WOT. The shaking and rattling goes away if I take my foot of the gas. A gradual acceleration does not produce that phenomenon. Kind of feels that the wheels are "hopping." In fact, I have made a mental note not to do any lane merge since it feels like it will pull me the concrete barrier.
If I do a WOT on the blacktopped segment of the freeway, I do not get that violent shaking and rattling, very smooth. Tire pressures are 38psi and the wheel bearings are ok (did the test). Since the car is a '96, I have the upgraded suspension, front sway bar is connected to control arm. The car has the steering rack clamp, 25mm rear sway bar, and Bilstein HDs.
When I had the '94 V6, I did not get this shaking and rattling on WOT. Do you all know what's going on? Thanks . . .
