96 Saab 900 SET, 160,000 miles.
The check engine light has been on for a while now (code was for a random misfire) and I assumed the DIC was on it's way out. The car ran great, but would occasionally idle a little rough. Two days ago, while cruising along at about 40 mph, the CEL started blinking and 5 seconds later the engine died and refused to start (no sputter or anything). I promply orded a new DIC, and when I replaced it this evening it still wouldn't start. I then checked for power at the fuel pump, and sure enough I would get 12V across the green/black and black wires when cranking, and 0V otherwise. Also, I can not make out a buzzing sound from the fuel pump area when I'm cranking. Sound like a bad fuel pump? Anything else that I can check before it goes to the shop?
On a related note, can anyone recommend a good shop in the Boston area? I just moved up here for school.
Thanks,
Matt
