I obviously don't have the experience that Anders has, but AutoXone can even mess up a Honda. I had them read an error on our '98 Accord which isn't exactly an exotic rare car. They got the right number but the explanation was way off.
Up to P0999 the numbers are *supposed to* mean the same thing for any car make. Above P1000 each carmaker can make up his own meaning for the codes. Not only that, but the cheaper code readers (like the Actron that they used on my Honda) have a questionable database of text error descriptions for some car makes.
So go ahead & let them read it. But be sorta skeptical about the text description of the problem.
