And I highly doubt it will ever happen.
The 900 model is old enough that not much effort and money is used to improve the design from a GM/Saab stand point.

The only reason why some 9-3 and 9-5 model got under scrutiny and subsequently a volontary recall was that enough people filed a complaint with NHTSA about failing IDMs and they looked into the matter.

The IDM will fail at som point and time just like ignition cap, rotor and wires but what made it worse with the 9-3/9-5 model was how early it happened.

The red cassette seems to hold up longer and the failure rate may be right within Saabs estimates.
