Wierd idle at startup & Climat control strangeness

Hi all,
2000 93SE, 115,000
Just wanted to let you know about these two issues I was having and how I solved them in an unexpected way.
The first problem was that on the first startup of the day the idle would be very erratic, alternating from high to almost stalling for about the first minute. My plan was to look at the IAC, TB, TPS, clean, replace if needed, etc.
The second problem was that upon starting the car, I would occasionally see the climate control display throw a "22", then go blank, then show a "0", then sppear to reset and work fine after 30 seconds or so. From reading the boards I thought that I might have to get it "reprogrammed" for my climate, or something, I didn't really know.
Before I was able to take any steps to solve those issues, I was forced to replace my battery (which hadn't been replaced since I got the car at 15,000 mi). Since bettery replacement, the idle and climate control problems have gone away. I can only attribute this to the fact that electrical devices can sometimes behave strangely when they're underpowered (?)...
At any rate, just wanted to throw that out there in case it might help someone.
Al
