Squeaking can be caused by the mechanic not apply anti-squeal goop to the back of pads. This may also go away after the pads have bedded in. Grinding can also be caused my pads, but if it was there before and is still there now must make you wonder if it's something else. You sure it's coming from the rear? There can also be come crap stuck in the caliper that causes this.
