The two posting below are correct for a T5 system, but if you have a T7, it is quite another story. If you treat the T7 cover like a T5, you will break it.
To remove the T7 cover, pull straight up at the trany end of the cover. It has a plastic fork that slides over one of the engine lifting rings. Then pull the other end up so that the oil filler tube and cap go down through the cover and its off. Do not remove or replace the cover with the oil filler cap removed as this would allow dirt to get into the oil filler tube.
With both engines, removal of the cover does allow for more control when pouring in new oil.
