Let's be honest, because of the larger turbo, at anything below 3,000RPM the Viggen has more lag compared to the base model. To really drive it properly, you need to keep the RPMs up there. In my base 01 9-3, I could do the 1-2 shift at 3,250 and not have to worry. In the Viggen, you had better do the 1-2 shift at 4,000 and above or else you'll be waiting around in the middle of the intersection while the thing spools up. When I'm tooling around town, people always give me strange looks while I'm lurching on-off throttle in first gear. I have to do that because otherwise I'd be at 1,500RPM in second gear, which when the traffic clears out makes for a sloooow gettaway...
So take another test drive but never go below 2,200RPM. Then you'll see...
