First thing to deal with is basic maintenance items.
Injectors can foul and you should use Techron Concentrate about every 8K or 3x/year. Must be "concentrate". Get at auto parts store and follow directions about adding to your fuel tank when you fill up.
Plugs can be worn or fouled, or wrong ones. These can be pulled and the deposits read to get some idea about what is happening in the cylinders, at that point you regap them or replace.
If you do not have the turbo engine, then you have a distributor and cables. These can be 'leaking' high voltage if dirty and/or degraded. This will be a greater problem in the cold and damp. The cables and distributor can be cleaned or typically replaced $. Deal with this at same time as plugs. Also have the coil face cleaned to remove dirt etc. Note if the distributor shows signs of oil leaking.
You did not state if this was a cold or hot start problem.
