I have an opportunity to pick up a 94 Saab 900S 5 speed with ~125k miles at a local public auction. The car is in the southeast, so rust is not a concern. I Carfaxed the VIN and that checked out ok - no accidents, always registered in the same area. The one catch is that the key is stuck in the ignition. I don't know details since I haven't had a chance to inspect the car yet.

I did read the previous thread about which early 90's saabs to look for and what to look out for - there was some very good info there.

So a few questions:

MOST IMPORTANT - What's the max you would pay for this car at an auction assuming everything appears to check out?

Is there anything else I should look out for? This is a non-turbo model, so it may not be as fast, but I'm hoping it also wasn't as abused.

Quasimotors' site mentions that you should watch out for the traction control system. This was an option on 94 9k's, not sure if it was an option on a 900? Does anyone know how to tell if the car has this or not simply by looking at it?

What are the odds that I'm going to get the key out of the ignition?
