My son has a 94 900S. The rr shock has been rattling. Today I noticed that the top of the shock has worn a hole through the trunk liner. You can hold the top to the shock and move it around. I take it that the metal in the unibody has rusted away and the shock has punched through. Weird, since the car has only 64K on it and no body rust.
Anyway, what am I facing here? Does anyone make some sort of metal collar that can be welded in to create a new mounting area? Or is this car finished? Other than this, it's is good shape with low miles.
If anyone has solved this problem, what did it cost? Thanks, everyone.
