Had the same problem with my 2000 93. Occassionaly it just wouldn't start. wait a little and fired right up. Eventually it would take longer sitting before it would start. And just like you said not in the AM but after I was driving it. Turn the key and everything lights up but no turnover and no clicking. nothing. Wound up being the neutral saftey cutoff switch. Sits on top of the transmission. I am guessing you have an automatic. Kind of a pain to replace, I almost gave up but I persisted andwas able to do it. It took me about 3 hours from start to finish. There is a link on this site that shows how to do it, Lifesaver. eEuroparts has it for about $270. My local Saab dealer wanted almost $750 for the same part.
