Hello Adam,
Here's some things I know about the shocks and struts. KYB is crap. Monroe is not highly regarded as they don't last much more than 50,000 miles (at the price though I have purchased them until I kind buy something better). The Boge/Sachs when new are very good. But they are expensive and I cannot justify the payment. I drove Bilstein Heavy Duty all around New England and Quebec. Let me tell you the Trans Canadian 20 highway hurt my back cause the rear shocks are VERY firm. Here's what I think is your best bet, Bilstein Touring struts and shocks. I believe they are made for the convertible but I believe you can find them for the hatch version. If I had the money that is what I would put in my car. They are about a hundred cheaper than the Heavy Duty models and will last just as long. That's what I would choose. Hope that helps.
