Fixed a defective new part...

So I went out at lunch today, and was driving off, and thought based on sound that my blower must have been off, or on low. Went to turn it up and got nothing. :-\
Pushing on the knob started the blower, so i swung into North Country Imports and got me a blower switch. Replaced it after work, when i noticed that of all things, the blower now had three speeds: off, almost high, and high. drat!!
So I drove home and removed the new defective switch in my driveway, and yanked the face/shaft off it. It just pops right apart... whereupon i noticed that someone or some machine didn't cut apart a few of the copper sliders in the switch, like the ones in the old one were. There's even a couple slots in the back of the switch for the blade or punch or whatever to knock the copper chunk out the back. Well, 5 minutes and a Dremel and my new defective switch was no longer defective.
Should I have taken it back? Probably. For 10 minutes of my time, I figured I'd just finish what some crazy Brits started. (it's made in Great Britain..)
