Frozen 96 SE Turbo!

Here in Subarctic Buffalo, we experience some interesting automotive problems. You don't have to plug in the engine block to keep the oil from jelling up [unless you are driving a diesel], but things do get messed up due to the cold. My problem stems from the frozen hood on my 96 SE Turbo. I don't drive this car in the snow. This year I was caught with my hood down where it froze shut, before I could put a trickle charger on the battery and the car is outside, parked in a location where it is hard to do anything except watch it until there is a thaw, which could be April. The battery is dead and a rolling start is not an option to start the engine and thaw the lock. What I need is an old "lot boy trick" to pop the hood. Thanks W.B.
