Front Strut question

I have a 96 900 Turbo. About a year ago and 13,000 miles the front struts and strut mounts where replaced by an Independent shop. The car has 81,000 total miles. Recently, I have heard sounds from the right front suspension. The sound is similar to how it sounded before the strut replacement. I believe, something is loosening up within the suspension. It seems very early to have strut or strut mount failure. Is there something that the shop may have neglected to do,when they replaced, to prolong the life of the struts or strut mount? Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks
