Since I'm a lazy bastard, I would double and triple check that it is infact the water pump leaking before ripping it out, replacing it and finding out that it was something else leaking.
Not long ago did I have a car coming back after I had replaced the water pump (the pump was leaking before replacement) and the customer said the car was leaving spots of the groound again at the same place as when the pump was leaking.
With a flash light and mirror I could see that it was not the pump creating the leak, but after long search and keeping the system under pressure, I found that the hose on the back of intake manifold to throttle body had a pin hole.
The coolant followed the edge of cylinder head, trickled down over front engine cover and then onto the air guide under car and down at the same spot where the pump was draining out too.
The radiator also have a tendency to leak where the plastic tanks are crimped to the aluminum core.
