Power Steering Line Rustout

I wanted to lend a caution. I have a 99 9-3. My power steering line starting leaking heavily and I almost lost full steering. The problem it would seem should be something to check for in other cars. The pressure line as it runs along the bottom of the radiator dips abit on both the left and right hand side before turning up into the engine compartment. At these locations, the bottom covers tend to build up heavily with road debris (sand, leaves, dirt, etc). This created a corrosion area and my line went rotten.
The replacement line is about $200 so it is something, that while is easily replaced, is rather expensive and very dangerous when the line breaks. I recommend inspection of this area (you need to unscrew the bottom covers) and spend extra time hosing this area to prevent material buildup that will induce premature rusting of the line.
