Been having a similar problem to post at http://www.saabnet.com/tsn/bb/NG900/index.html?bID=224304
car will crank, but not start. CEL has been on for a while intermittently, but starting problem is new. Had the codes pulled when light first came on and then again recently. Getting same two codes: 1312 and 1334 (one is crank position and one misfire). Replaced plugs when CEL first came on (~89K) and CEL went out for a while.

I tested the CPK & fuel pump using procedure found at http://www.saabnet.com/tsn/bb/NG900/index.html?bID=218904

Results: Shows 12v+ in on position; hear fuel pump; slight decrease in voltage when cranking (normal); when turned off meter shows 12v for about 10 seconds. When turned back on 12v shows same - no 2 second interval.(difference could be different cars - 97 vs 00 or T5 vs T7)

After test took car for a drive (started fine & no CEL). Returned home and tried to restart after a few minutes. Just cranked, no fire. Re-performed test and got same results. Pulled 2 plugs - no problems there.

ANY SUGGESTIONS?

Questions: 1) Not sure if software is latest version. Should I make sure it is up to date before I drop in a DI? Any idea what the cost - closest dealer told me $90 min to hook it up for diagnisis.
2) Could it still be the crank position sensor? My understanding is that if CKP fails fuel pump won't run; my pump runs. Anyone have a part number for CKP?

Thanks in advance!
