I have the same thing with my wife and 30V Audi A4. She runs snake piss all the time and I don't hear it ping. I think the ignition retards in all these cars and takes care of it. Turbo cars with boost are a different issue as I think detonation occurs more readily under boost. I'd say the proof is in the pinging. That said, I think the higher grades have more cleaning additives and I think that is good for all of our engines. C.
