No puddles on the floor, no noticable smoke, squeeky clean engine bay, and negative for engine sludge. The tail of the car is always covered with black soot, but not anymore than usual over the last 6 years of driving it.
I've got 50k on the car and warranty should run out in Nov '06 or 100k if I suddenly decide to circle the nation a couple times ;).
I'm not going to lie to them, and expect them to be honest in return. It's going through oil slowly, but everything else is pretty good. I just want to get it corrected assuming it's a signal of something else out of spec. The only thing else I've noticed is a lack of boost (ongoing about 2 years); they haven't acknowledged that as a problem yet (no error codes), but I always mention it so at least it's on the ticket. I haven't noticed any new smells or a change in gas mileage either..
My hope is that it's something minor or someone here telling me they had the same issue and it was due to _________. The car hasn't been babied, but it hasn't been really abused either... Most of it's life is a daily 2 mile commute. Also, because it's winter, I let it warm up prior to my commute. I remember seeing something here about the oil pump in the Viggen being a possible source for the engine failures. Related? Maybe because it idles almost as long as it drives, the oil is cooking?
