Wooohooo!!! The boost is back!

My '99 9-3 drives like it used to! My mechanic and I had pinpointed my low boost issue to a bad BPC solenoid.....I was in yesterday for a new thermostat, and he had just got a wrecked 9000 turbo in (which uses the same BPC). Tried it out, and it boosts like it uses to. Very close to the red, and touches the red on shifts. (And, this was a 55 degree day and it was humid and foggy.) After driving the car for so long while never getting over mid yellow, its a nice feeling to have full boost back.
I noticed since new my BPC used to make a little buzz around 2000 rpm. When my low boost problem started, the noise was gone....I assume this meant the BPC was no longer functioning. Now with the new one again, I notice the same familiar noise, so I assume this means its work normally again.
Is there anything about the car itself that could be wrong that could cause a BPC to die? In other words, will my car kill this one soon too, or do they just die sometimes, and was '99 a bad batch for BPC's on 9-3's?
