Do not buy the "New Prestone Long-Life Coolant", or any other Dexcool-based mixture. Dexcool does not mix with other coolants, only with itself.
(Read the labels. Dexcool is usually very prominently advertised. Prestone now sells it, too.)

All other stuff is inter-mixable. I'd recommend Zerex G-05. Even though it is different in color (may be yellow, may be gold, may be orange) -- it mixes fine with any other coolants. It is believed to be better than the regular old Prestone.

I had a very good experience of my own. I've had a very evasive coolant leak for years. This winter it has gotten particularly bad. I had to "top off" every week. I decided to drain and refill the coolant completely (see my earlier post). Since I could not find the blue Saab Coolant anywhere, I went with the next best thing available -- G-05. To my great surprise, G-05 stopped my leak! It's been more than a month now that I did not have to add any more coolant.
