You don't say if the timing cover and oil pump was replaced together with balance/timing chain work.
Many times when the balance sprockets has been chewed to pieces, the debris have caused so much wear on the timing cover/oil pump that it needs to be replaced.
If you are lucky, you might get away with just replacing the outer oil pump cover, oil pump gears and the oil pressure reducer valve in timing cover.
But if the scoring is too deep in the timing cover it might not be enough.
This is what the oil pressure reducer valve can look like when balance sprockets have gone bad.
