Hello. I just bought my very first SAAb, 1997 900 S Vert, and am loving it. But unfortumately, I know very little about cars, much less Saabs, and was hoping somebody could help me out. I live in Fresno, CA, and unfortunately there are no certified Saab mechanics in the area. I found a few guys who work on Saabs, but only classic models. I called a few European places and found a few that said they work on Saabs. My question is, for basic work like oil changes and brake pads, etc. can i take my car to any old place assuming that they are capable. I plan for major tuneups and work to take it up north to a certifed mechanic, but was curious if that was necessary for the small stuff. Probably a dumb question, but like i said, i know nothing. thanks.
