The new MAF is made to richen things up and they have a new MAF that will allow for you to adjust your fuel ratio's. If you adjust the MAF singal you can either make it either richer or leaner.
JDS website does not list the Saab but if you look at the part numbers on the side of you MAF you will see the part number on the right hand side. Contact Granatelli if you need more information. Granatelli at the SEMA show released a new adjustable unit.
In my research I have found that just enlarging the MAF without adjusting the MAF calibration can increase the HP by as much as 27hp. We were starting to try to recalibrate the MAF and found out the Paxon boys beat us to it. The upgraded MAF has been on the market for about 4 years, but has not been marketed to the Saab market. The Saab MAF is also used on other GM cars, I think GM Firebird off the top of my head, and this upgraded has been marketed to them instead of the Saab market.
