Stalls after warms up.

While wife was on her way to work Saturday, 99 9-3s with about 70k miles stalled after driving about five miles. CEL light on and would not turn over. Left the car in a parking lot and she found another way to work. When I came to take a look several hours later, the car started, although it seemed to take a longer crank than usual. All vac hoses are in order. Deceided to drive the car home. Almost made it but stalled again and would not fire. Left the car for a few more hours to cool off (seemed to work the first time)then drove the car the rest of the way home. I do not have a obdII reader so I cannot retrieve the code.
I check plugs and they seem to be alright except that one plug has a very small bit of carbon on one corner of the base beneath the electrode. Also IDM is original with date code of 99/03.
My first reaction is to replace IDM. Does the symptoms of stall after the engine warms up consistent with a failed IDM? Is there something else that I should consider as well? I cannot buy new IDM until Monday as the dealer is closed, and I do not know of anyone with a spare or even any one else with a Saab to borrow one with.
At least the car is at home and not miles from home.
Thanks for any help.
