shaft on the pass. side - also have to remove the tensioner and belt first of course to get to them - easy to get from below, may remove downpipe/cat if you can't reach it easily - then the remaining shaft pulls out like the driver's side. Get ready for fluid out the shaft spots...
Then when you go to pull the trans, you can pull it free of the engine and let it down onto the subframe - won't have full open access but enough to take out the bearing and to see and remove the pressure plate and clutch - keeps you from dropping it on your head that way! If you remove the subframe bolts on the driver's side you get some more clearance if needed - don't have to remove the entire subframe though
