Yeah the rescue is necessary - if it helps a stock 2.0 it is downright necessary to tame the viggen IMO - brace the steering, increase the roll bar on the rear, put the SE roll bar on the front, get a single subframe brace -
You'll be downright suprised at what the lack of flex does to help put the stock power down.
Since you're starting w/ a capable powerplant, next level is easy to acheive with simple mods - open the intake and exhaust, don't even worry about retuning the ECU til you've done that. Make sure your brakes are working at OEM levels first and consider going through the system first w/ new discs in front (slotted/ drilled) - don't want to crash test it too soon...
250/280 is a fun target and good for everyday driving/reliability!
Agree that Taliferro is good for baseline and others can provide same for discount - mp is a good group, maybe just overwhelmed by interest!
