electrical and alarm system when battery has run down.

I have a 96 900 SET which I don't drive much, if at all in the winter, as I drive a 93 900 S, which I feel much better with in the crud we drive around in during the winter in the Buffalo area. I have a new last summer DieHard Battery [the expensive International, which is the only Diehard for this car model], which I have hooked up to a trickle charger to keep it fresh in case there is need to use the car. A couple weeks ago, I needed to use my compresser to inflate the rear tire of this car which had gone down sitting in the cold. The easiest hook up I had was to disconnect the trickle charger drag the extension cord through the engine compartment and hook it up to the compressor.I did this and inflated the tire. The only problem was I didn't hook up the charger. The weather got colder, the tire, which probably has a rim leak leaked and I went back to the proven method. Unfortunately, the alarm went off, the door locks were crazy, not wanting to lock and I am trying to figure if a recharge and a resetting of the system will cure the problem. I have an easy disconnect on the battery, so I just disconnected the battery from the electrical system and placed the trickle charger on the battery. Any idea where I messed up here and any solutions. Thanks Wild Bill
