Congrats on the Viggen purchase. Like you I bought my Viggen at around 30-35k miles & debated the extended warranty. I chose to believe these are good cars and did not buy the warranty. So far a good decision. I'm at 66k miles now, have had no major issues & only a few minor fixes. It's been a very reliable & still looks, drives, & feels nearly like it did when I bought it. Only the fresh leather smell has gone.
At 66k my clutch shows no signs of wearing out.
Search this bb for terms "Viggen","repairs"... or "viggen","warranty". You'll learn much. As for the warranty, I figured the econ wizards who design them do so with the odds heavily loaded in favor of the warranty company... not the car owner. And they know what they're doing.
Enjoy the Viggen! Mine's the best car I've ever owned.
