So I was gonna buy this guy's '99 Saab 9.3 SE conv. with 75kmiles, but when checked out at the mechanic there were a number of cover problems(pistons, needing to be shifted forward...) and the rear and front exhaust were damaged. So now I"m looking at another one that is the same color, same year except its not an SE and has 99kmiles instead(warranty to 100kmiles). Is 100kmiles a lot to be paying about $8500 for? The owner is a female that is very trustworthy and doesn't seem to have driven the car hard at all. She is the 2nd owner. Its an automatic. The check engine light is on, but she's getting it checked out at a Saab dealer tomorrow morning. Apparently that light comes on due to one of four different things(which I do not know...anyone know?). What I want to know is, am I getting myself a car that could go a long time without need for repair or are the odds in the favor of spending a good bit of cash at the shop? Is there a similar type of car at a similar price that would be more practical and safe for me?
