You can do this with a T5 system, but not a T7 system.

With aggressive shifting there can be a small advantage, but it does not make much sense as a only mod... other than lots of noise.

For your NG900 SE you should first install a K&N 33-2663, remove the turbo compressor discharge silencer, or install a Viggen IC, do the 3" duct mod, install the performance exhaust that you have asked about before, and rework the TBTC. Then you can easily get a lot of power for little cost with a MBC+A and get a greatly reduced boost lag. A blow off valve will work, but will have little reward. Your stock BPV will probably not like the MAC+A and will make silly noises. A newer BPV (was introduced with Viggen) is stronger and affordable, but a metal BPV will also work well. A BPV cannot be discharged to atmosphere as it is open with engine vacuum and will inhale dirt and dust at idle or engine overrun (off throttle or gearing down).

With the above suggestions, you will get more power and the power will come on very quickly... a great combination.

As always, a engine that is having boost increased should be in good condition, best oil and filters, best premium, fuel, clean injectors and the right plugs. For an setup with these mods, the BCPR7ES11 plugs can run better than the 6ES plugs, and use the larger gaps, not reduced to .035-.-37, but .039. The T5 gets faked out by the way the plugs act at the higher temperatures and pressures and can hesitate to get on high boost. You will then have to attend to the gaps perhaps twice a year. Do not use platinum plugs with an boost increase... that includes modified ECU software.

You have not posted your model year... check for signs of leakage at the head gasket seam at the battery end. Check for missing exhaust and intake manifold studs/bolts. Check that the valve cover screws not loose anywhere while you are at it. If HG weeping, remove VC and retorque the head bolts, and fit a new VC gasket. Otherwise, we have not seen any patterns of HG problems associated with increased boost in the T5. But one should not ignore signs of a problem.
