aftermarket exhaust compatibility

Hello,
I am trying to buy a replacement exhaust system for a 1995 NG 900i coupé automatic, without paying Saab prices. This is a UK model with the 2 liter n/a engine. The SAAB part diagrams for this car (1994-96 models) show two systems: one for manual cars, the other for automatics. The Saab systems share the same centre box and rear muffler, but they differ at the front. Starting from the manifold, the automatic versions have an all-in-one downpipe + cat section which includes a small flex-piece ahead of the cat. This front section is connected, via a solid link pipe section, to the centre box. The much cheaper Bosal aftermarket system which is supposed to fit my car is different in several respects: there is no flex-piece in the all-in-one downpipe + cat, but there is a flex-piece in the link pipe between the cat and the centre box. Also, the pipe from the centre box connects to the rear box on an angle, instead of straight-in as in the o/e system. Do these differences matter? Can I assume that the Bosal system will fit? Any advice would be much appreciated.
Also, if (for availability reasons) I end up having to combine an aftermarket cat with a Saab cat-back system, there will be no flex-piece at all. Would that be a problem? The Saab cat is worth more than my car... See my problem?
Regards,
Andy
